Whelk Cottage has a very cosy feel and provides a good location from which to explore the beautiful Lizard Peninsula. With Cadgwith cove, one of the most photographed coves in England, less than a 10 minute stroll, and the National Trust wooded valley at Poltesco only 5 minutes away, this is an ideal spot from which to explore. The villages of Ruan Minor and Cadgwith (which seem to merge into one) offer walking, swimming, fishing, and just relaxing. Local amenities include a general store, post office and cafe, two churches, the Old Cellars restaurant, and the Cadgwith Cove Inn. There is also a local bus service. The house, with its small sunny garden and comfortable accommodation, means you can have a very relaxing holiday in an excellent location. This refurbished cottage retains many original features including beamed ceilings and wooden flooring.

The cottage is a home from home so we can relax and enjoy our holiday no matter what the weather is like. There is so much to enjoy within walking distance and there is such easy access to the Cove, cliff walks and local beaches. As we are directly opposite the village hall we enjoy meeting the locals on a Thursday morning. One suggestion - a dishwasher would be helpful, but not vital.

A really relaxing break. Cottage very cosy and welcoming. Well-equipped, comfortable furniture, sunny garden. Good position in village and easy access to Cadgwith, Poltesco and Kennack. Good walks from the cottage. Very nice meeting in the village hall on Thursday morning. I stayed in this exact cottage with my parents in the 1960s so it was a real walk down memory lane.
