This is a journey worth making. Heading down to England’s most southerly point you begin to sense the sea on all sides around you and even more so when you take the lane to Bass Point Cottage. Breathtaking views of the sea appear as you drive along the edge of the cliffs making this a very special holiday house. And then you arrive! This Cornish cottage has just been refurbished with a lot of input and love from the owners who have known the cottage since their childhood holidays and now want to share their experiences. From the cottage you can walk easily to The Lizard Village and amazing beaches at Kynance, Housel Bay and Pentreath. Situated on the coastal path, you can watch the sea in all its moods and on a clear night the moon and stars make a wonderful backdrop. This truly is an idyllic location based in an area of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The cottage will suit walkers, bird watchers and nature lovers – or those who wish to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being next to the sea.
GROUND FLOOR: Large porch/sun room: catches the sun all day with views of the sea. Small table and chairs. Leads into DINING ROOM: with table and chairs and log burning stove with original brick surround and original grey painted panelling walls. KITCHEN: Newly fitted with electric hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer. LOUNGE: With comfortable seating – L-shaped sofa and a high quality double sofa bed. Amazon Fire TV, Netflix, DVD player. New log burning stove. Sea views. BATHROOM: With L-shaped bath, overhead waterfall shower with screen, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.
FIRST FLOOR: MASTER BEDROOM: With king-sized bed. TWIN-BEDDED ROOM. Both have window seats and spectacular sea views.
Small COURTYARD at rear of house. LARGE GARDEN with wind-protected “Secret Garden” with picnic benches. PARKING: Space for 2 cars on private drive. HEATING: Electric convector panel heaters and two log burning stoves. PETS: well behaved dogs allowed - we request that they are not left on their own and not allowed on furniture please.
SPECIAL NOTES: The house is semi-detached. The lane to the property is through farmland along an unmade road and may be unsuitable for low-slung cars. Cows may come to meet you so make sure you close the gates behind you! The house has two bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room, so may not be suitable for 6 adults but fine for a combination of children/adults. Towels are inclusive in the rental. Security deposit: £100.
