Arriving at the Lizard village you almost feel you are on an island as the sea seems to be on the horizon in almost every direction. Stoneturner`s Cottage has been very attractively refurbished and is situated just 100 yards away from the large village green, restaurants, pubs, shops and a good butcher/delicatessen. You can forget your car as this is an ideal base for walking the Southwest Coast path together with many of the other attractive walks. Tucked away from the road this single storey cottage offers peace and quiet with its sunny sheltered garden, light kitchen conservatory and cosy sitting room. The cottage is so-named because this used to be a stoneturning workshop for the unusual stone – serpentine – that is local to the area and no-one can leave the Lizard without taking away a serpentine lighthouse! From the cottage you can actually see the Lizard lighthouse and you will feel very content that the same Lizard light will be helping ships keep away from this rocky coastline. Come and learn more about this area with its stories of shipwrecks, smuggling and hidden treasure!

Carole and Clive, Manchester Our third visit to Stoneturner's Cottage and another wonderful fortnight on the Lizard. Recommend getting the bus to Poldhu or Mullion coves and then walking back to the Lizard. Fantastic views and not too hard a walk. Also walking to Cadgwith via the coastal path and coming back via St Ruan's well and Grade Church. Hope to come back next year!
