REVIEWS FOR SHIP COTTAGE

A great stay in a lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Great location – a minute from the beach and pub. Would suggest stairgates, even if only at the top of the stairs, to make it more child friendly for small children.

Thank you for a most enjoyable week. A very cosy cottage – the woodburner is very efficient and so welcoming during the very cold weather. Lovely hot showers and altogether a very delightful stay

What a lovely place Cadgwith is and a nice surprise for us to have such a big and well positioned cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the goodies left, and for the ease of booking etc. Super clean as well.

It was incredibly special for all of us to stay in Ship Cottage and to revisit Cadgwith. Our great grandparents, Richard Stephens and Helena (nee Jane) Stephens, lived in this cottage (or half of it) in the early to mid-1900s. It was a time to imagine re-tracing their steps, thinking about how they lived and the people they were. A tremendous opportunity, particularly for those of us coming from Australia. We love Ship Cottage and would love to come again. This visit was particularly special as we had three generations of Stephens here. A visit to treasure and remember.

Another lovely week in Ship Cottage and another wonderful stay in Cadgwith. Great pub, gorgeous beaches (Kennack, Kynance) and wonderful cliff-top runs. We’ll be back!

Ship Cottage suited us well, though it is in need of some refurbishment [owner’s note – new cooker and kitchen improvements completed for 2024]. The weather improved later in the week and we enjoyed visits to St Michael’s Mount, Godolphin, Glendurgan and Lizard Point, as well as the cliff walks around Cadgwith. Kynance Cove was a wonderful surprise and warranted two visits. We enjoyed dinners at the Cadgwith Cove Inn. Cadgwith is a special place that sneaks into our hearts. Leaving is hard.

Another lovely stay at Ship Cottage. The children love exploring the cottage and spending time scrambling on the beach. The weather has been very kind to us for October and all the Daly family made it to go for a dip in the sea at Kynance Cove.

A great time was had by all. The house itself is beautiful - spacious and very well situated. The new carpets and soft furnishings were lovely. It is always a pleasure to visit, whatever the weather. This time we visited Land's End, Roskilly's ice-cream bar and Gunwalloe Cove. We cannot wait to go back again. Thanks Debbie and staff for a wonderful holiday period.

We feel privileged to spend some time in this lovely Cadgwith Cove, and Ship Cottage has become our home within 2 days. It breathes Cornish history and yet is well fitted with all the things you need. The view from both sides of the Todden is amazing and we will never forget the beauty of this landscape while walking on the coast path. Moreover, we have to add the extraordinary evenings in the Cadgwith pub where we have sung together with the local people. We enjoyed their hospitality and friendliness very much and will keep our days here in mind forever. We thank the owner of Ship Cottage and the people who manage the rental of the Cadgwith Cove Cottages for an unforgettable holiday.

Lovely cottage, with so many lovely places both nearby and on the doorstep. Cadgwith is a special place. Nearly got used to the footpath to the car park! We had a fabulous week and the weather was glorious too. We’ll be back.

Such an ideal spot. The village is a wonderful community – waking up to the birds and mostly sunny mornings is a delight. Coastal walks rewarding with lovely views. The pub nights have been great with the singalongs and shanties. Plus the food is amazing. Crab sandwiches from the fish shop are great too. Thank you for everything.

We loved Cadgwith. It is a very special place. Had a restful, peaceful week with lots of walks to blow the cobwebs away. The weather was much better than we feared from the forecasts. Kynance was a high point.

After a week of staying in Ship Cottage my husband is looking 10 years younger! The glorious bird song every morning, the sparrows nesting under the gutter, no traffic, dark nights and peace makes for pure joy. This homely comfortable cottage is lovely and Cadgwith magical – a truly treasured time here. Thank you so much. We will return.

First time in Cadgwith. Lovely place and some very exciting beaches nearby. Our one-year-old’s favourite was Kennack Sands. She also loved watching the boats coming in and the kayakers leaving the cove. Great walks to Poltesco and Kynance Cove. We shall come again.

This was just the tonic we needed – walks every day, delicious seafood, lobster, crab, mussels and fish in abundance. The Treleague farm shop and dairy is a must!! Coverack, Mullion, Lizard, Kennack Sands – we have walked our socks off! Second time in Cadgwith but we will be back. This amazing cottage is the best.

We had a lovely stay at Ship Cottage - our second visit and just as nice as we remembered from three years ago. It's such a comfortable house - so well equipped and with lots of homely extras and interesting books to read! And it was lovely and clean.
